Timothée (he/him) is a sound artist, electronic music composer & experimental short film director. He is born in Hollandsche Raading (NL) in 1994 and lives in Biel (CH). He completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts at HGK (CH) in 2019 and his Master of Contemporary Arts Practice in Sound Arts at HKB (CH) in September 2023. This program gave him the opportunity to create interactive installations, driven by his research focused on movement analysis through electronic sensors and the attribution of these movements to digitally processed and spatialized sound events. To bring his creations to life, he turned to learning mechanical engineering in an artistic context, specifically by training in the design of machines and robotic mechanisms, the use of motors and electromagnets, and metalworking.
His fascination with the macroscopic world, both visual and sonic, leads him to explore often imperceptible realms, inviting the viewer to question anthropocentrism and humanity’s place within its environment. In his installations, the audience becomes an essential part of the composition, immersed in environments that reveal subtle connections between tangible and intangible elements. He transforms the experience of observation into a reflection on our place within these expansive ecosystems.
He collaborates with Gonzague Rebetez, with whom he co-founded the WAEXE collective. They created a series of immersive installations called WIRED, presented at Kunstraum Dreiviertel in Bern in 2022 and at the Swiss Museum of Electronic Music (SMEM) in Fribourg in 2023. Their collective is also active in performance art, with various projects. Timothée is also a member of the electro-acoustic music group Lesmio, formed with Julie Milani in 2022.
